Nurse-Led Clinics for Painful Bladder Syndrome

The Nurse-Led Clinics provide ongoing treatment options and support for people with PBS, and include liaison with specialists or GPs as necessary.
The service is for people who have visited a gynaecologist or urologist and been told they have PBS, and who are affected by symptoms but not currently receiving treatment from their specialist.
Individuals may be referred to a Nurse-Led Clinic by their specialist or GP, or can also contact the clinics themselves and self-refer.

​The type of support and assistance provided at the Nurse-Led Clinics includes:
  • Advice on conservative measures eg. diet/nutrition
  • Assistance and tools to help individuals cope
  • Pharmacology in conjunction with GP or specialist
  • Development of a Management Plan based on individual needs
  • Follow-up support
  • Facilitation of contact with others and support group if appropriate
