Who Are We?
New Zealand Painful Bladder Support Group (NZPBSG) is a not for profit organisation that is based in Christchurch, and has membership throughout New Zealand. The group began in 1995, and has grown to over 200 members nationwide. NZPBSG is co-ordinated by Dot Milne R.N. Post-grad. Dipl. Health Sciences, a registered nurse with specialist interest and extensive experience in PBS and the management of chronic pain. Dot was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 1999 to study PBS in Boston with a specialising urologist, and now presents at conferences and seminars throughout the country. Using a combination of straight talk, humour, and sensitivity, Dot connects with clients and health professionals to deliver robust, reliable, and up-to-date information about PBS.
"The pain was worse and I was in a very dark place. At that stage I was put in touch with Dot Milne who had started up the Support Group which was a lifesaver. With her expertise, support, and newsletters, life is again worth living." - NZPBSG member, Tauranga.
